PROGYNOVA 2 MG

Progynova is an oestrogen-containing product.

Progynova 2 mg is to be administered once daily. It does not matter what time of day the woman takes her tablet; once she has chosen a time, she should adhere to it daily. The treatment is continuous, so each pack is followed immediately by the next without a break.

To initiate and maintain therapy for menopausal symptoms, the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration (see also section 4.4) should be used. To initiate treatment for menopausal symptoms, Progynova 1 mg should be administered. If Progynova 2 mg is deemed necessary, it should be administered. Once a treatment plan has been established, the smallest effective dose for symptom relief should be administered.

To prevent postmenopausal osteoporosis, one pill of Progynova 2 mg should be taken once daily.

In women with an intact uterus, Progynova should be administered with a progestogen for at least 12 to 14 days per month/28 day cycle. In hysterectomy patients, the addition of a progestogen is not recommended unless endometriosis has been previously diagnosed.

How to Begin Using Estradiol Valerate

If the woman has an intact uterus and is still menstruation, she should start a Progynova and progestogen combo regimen on the first day of bleeding, starting with the oestrogen phase. As long as pregnancy is ruled out, she may begin at any time if her menstrual periods are infrequent or if amenorrhea has been established.

Women who are switching from a continuous combination HRT medication can initiate treatment with Progynova at any time.

Women switching from cyclic or continuous sequential HRT regimens should complete their current cycle before beginning Estradiol Valerate treatment without a break.

Tablets that have gone missing or have been misplaced

If a woman forgets to take her medication at the prescribed time, she may take it within 12 hours. The forgotten pill should not be taken if the patient is more than 12 hours late, and the remaining pills should be taken at their regular times and days. A missing dose can cause spotting or breakthrough bleeding.

Population of young

This product should not be used by children.

Administration method

It is possible to take the tablets with or without food. With a glass of water or milk, the tablets should be consumed in their entirety. The pills should be taken daily at the same time.
